Local, District, and International Projects
Visit the Zonta International website to see the impact Zonta is having on womens rights around the world.
The Zonta Club of Kyneton runs the annual International Women's Day dinner in March, bringing local women together to celebrate and hear from other inspirational women.
The club also works with other local organisations to support the White Ribbon campaign.
Scholarships for women taking pre-employment courses at Kyneton Community and Learning Centre.
Awards for girls at primary and secondary schools in Kyneton
The Club also gives local support to Zonta International programs that support young people with annual donations to Zonta International Foundation.
The club participates in the Zonta Breast Care Cushions program. The first cushions were made by members of the Zonta Club of Botany Bay, NSW in 1995. District 23 adopted this as a District Project at the 2003 District Conference and all clubs were encouraged to participate.
In most years since 2003 the Zonta Club of Kyneton has held working bees to make these cushions. The cushions are supplied to individuals on request, through local doctors and through club members. Two of our members have used the cushions following surgery; they have endorsed the value of the cushions and encouraged the club to continue with this project.
The Zonta Club of Kyneton sponsors the Kyneton Secondary College Z Club. The members of Z club are involved in projects such as the White Ribbon campaign, the Birthing Kit Foundation and Days for Girls. In recent years, members of Kyneton Secondary College Z club have also held working bees to make breast care cushions.
